Where did that decoration go?

Putting Away the Decorations

One of my confessions for this year is that I did not do all the decorating that I normally do.  Last year we had over 15 trees displayed throughout our house, but this year, only the one main tree.  What this meant was that I did not get out ALL my decorations as I normally do each year.  This has led me to create a new form and area in my Christmas Organizing Notebook.

Shopping the Day After . . .

The day after Thanksgiving. in the U.S. is known as Black Friday—one of the (if not THE) biggest shopping days of the year.   The local paper is delivered with more ads than any other day of the year it seems and everyone wants you to come to their store first!    Where do you start?

Santa's Billing Department - NOW OPEN!

Reflections from Krisann, founder of ChristmasOrganizing.com about how the Santa Billing Department concept came to be.

As a little girl full of wonder and curiosity I looked forward to gifts from Santa each year but I often wondered why my parents did not give me any gifts at Christmas. I always had 10 presents under the tree but they were all from Santa. As I grew up, I learned the truth and it turned into a valuable lesson that has stayed with me throughout the years.

Tiger Butter

Wow - what a couple of weeks!  I help out at the West TN State Fair each year and also enter items into the food competition.  This year the local paper was there and my Tiger Butter made the paper even though it did not win in the contest (but it is still very good!)

Made in the USA - Christmas Shopping

As the economy seems to not be getting any better, I think about things and where they are made more often.  Do not get me wrong, I am not against owning things not made in the USA, but I will seek things out that are.  In an email recently, the Longaberger Company (I am an independent consultant for them) announced that due to requests, they would be bringing the making of their pottery back to the USA.  This thrilled me because I love my Longaberger baskets and take pride that they are made in the USA and handmade!
