Mailing and Postage

Mailing packages at Christmas time can cause many budgets to go right out the door.  It is one expense that many of us do not think about until it is time to go to the post office.  If you have waited late in the game, you are going to pay even more!  With a little planning, you can cut your postage costs down greatly or at least spread the cost over several months to make the financial hit not so hard.

Do you mail Christmas packages?  Make a list of the states and countries you mail packages to at Christmas. 

Do you plan to mail gifts to anyone you will be visiting in October or November?  If yes, plan to take their gifts as you visit – even if you are not opening gifts at that time.

Do you need to gather boxes for mailing or will you use packaging provided by the shipper?
