Must-Have Christmas Foods

What are your must-have Christmas foods?   The foods that when you see and taste them say, “now it is Christmas!”  Use the Christmas Organizing planning page, Must-Have Christmas Foods, and write a list of all the foods you want to include during the holiday season.  Make sure to note next to each item what occasion it is for or if it is just a general Christmas food to have on hand.

One of my favorites – Homemade Chex Mix!

I want to share with you one of my must-have foods at Christmas!  Homemade Chex mix.  Now I do not follow the recipe on the box (but you can), but we love it!  I have a roaster oven that I use to make a big batch in and let it cook like in an oven.  I use one like this from Amzaon: Oster Roaster Oven with Buffet Server, 18 Quart, White (CKSTRS71) https://amzn.to/2E2yCz8

My Modified Recipe!

I use one box of each Chex cereal (rice, corn, and wheat), two sticks of butter, season salt, Worcestershire sauce, one bag of stick pretzels, and one can of salted peanuts.  I mix it all and bake for 2 hours at 250 degrees stirring every 15 minutes.  I turn it off and allow it to cool and then bag up what does not get eaten out of the pan.  You can find this as a snack in our house all of December!  This homemade food takes me back to Christmas celebrations as a teenager with my mother – it was simple to do and is a family favorite.
